The river otter is charming in its affectionate displays toward others of its kind, and is capable of captivating any audience fortunate enough to observe it. Yet it is a powerful predator of fish and other creatures, and is active in Ohio year-round. Now, more than 30 years after the species’ reintroduction to Ohio by the ODNR Division of Wildlife, otters have expanded to many new areas of the state.
