Public land bow hunt near Athens

I'm planning my first Ohio bow hunting trip. My son and I will be staying Athens and hunting public lands. Any suggestions?

yes,. drive from Athens towards neilsonville, go to the The Wayne National park head quarters, they have a ton of good information there on up to date info on timbering, where is going on, where it was and also hunting pressure and even info maybe of local land owners that have crop damage, also have free maps and things to help you find a nice spot on there public lands

Hunt the public AEP lands. Used to live in the middle of them and have taken many nice deer.

I've hunted that area for the last four yrs. Leg work is your best friend, don't try doing it during the season. You can go to the dnr website and get free maps, also call the wayne National park head quarters, and they will send you alot of info. Start now, don't wait. Make a trip before the season. Its all hard hunting, but you can have good luck if you put in your time. Good luck !
what goes around, comes around. (I sure do hope so)!!
