Congrats on your first kill!!
as the title says, im new to hunting which i think you all almost know this by now but it not, NOW you do :)
but i was in the stand thursday monring, was 36deg this morning when i pulled in , and had a TONE of deer activity, i did a full video of all the footage i had. ended up not getting a chance of an early doe that morning that come in on a grunt call.
did my introduction on my gopro around 930 and then at 940 called a estres doe bleat call and had a buck come charging under me and walking out. gave me a perect broad side 20 yard shot and i smoked him!
i know hes not super huge but being my first deer EVERY i thought i did well. 6 point buck, weighed 140 lbs field dressed. a buddy of mine that lives near me helped me field dress him since it was my first time and he looked at everything and said i made the perfect shot. 10/10 . entry was slightly high but it got the lung and the exit hit the heart , he made it about 20-30 yards from where he was shot and then just fell right over, kicked about 3 times and he was done moving. he didnt run away when he was shot or anything just slowly keep walking away till he coundnt move at all.
sorry for the footage as he just walked out of frame but filming was the last thing on my mind at this point LOL
its a 10 min video i made and has almost all the action of that day.

Congrats on your first kill!!
Is there anything better than being in the woods?!
Congrats! now you've got the sickness! very cool encounter!
Congrats...I have yet to kill a deer with my bow and I am hoping it all comes together for me. Going to S Ohio in 10 days.....Awesome buck and that is something you will always remember!!!
thanks everyone and yes, it was all full of emotions, i first thought i missed the deer SOMEHOW... being he didt just or kick or anything when i first shoot, he just walked forward like nothing happened.
Congrats on your first. Hopefully there will be many more.
Con grants on a job well done and many more to you too
Congrats. That is a nice buck. I would have pulled the trigger on that one as well. Glad you got your first one. You will never forget that deer. Good job. It doesn't look like the shoot was too high. The shot caught a lung and the heart plus a short track job, sounds like the shot was just right.

he thought it was only maybe a inch too high, wasnt nothing major.
and if you look close to the side shot, you can see there is a small stub gorwing off where his antlers split up top, its rather obvious if you looked hard enough and he said you COULD call that a point if you wanted as you can hang a ring on it, but im not greedy :) , he said if that deer survived another year or two he would of been a monster if hes already showing growth like that this early in the season being 2.5 years old.
Very very very nice.....
Congrats on your first
job well done
