well, bears are something I have hunted since 1986, BUT, to be honest I hve never really wanted to kill one LOL
I have always used bear hunting as a way more or less to scout more for deer
over the yrs I have passed on bears many many times
and I have tagged along with many bear tagging deals with the old bear biologist Gary Alt, been about bears in very up close and personal ways for yrs, cannot tell you how many I have hand fed(don't recommend anyone do this)
so I never had the desire to kill one I guess
my hunting camp, has killed many while I was along, not against hunting them, just no desire to kill one myself
On Corn yrs here where I hunt, I pull many bears in due to the corn, and that would be the higest odds time to kill a bear here
no baiting is allowed(although I will bet a large chunk of cash, many bears are killed over it in PA, maybe 40% sadly)
but we just started to have a bow only season in PA, last few yrs
every yr I have a bear tag in my pocket, and have had bears in range while bow hunting
so guess if I wanted one, I could have already a few times

I enjoy watching them more than hunting them
there way cool critters in my eye's
big rolly polly animals with few cares, but fear of people and cats
for some reason they seem to fear cats LOL
dogs too
