I agree, some nice pics. I'm very curious to see what that buck in the last pic (with the messed up rack) looks like once he sheds his velvet. Hopefully you get some more good pics of him later.
Another nice batch. Seems like you have nore good racked bucks than in the previous few years. You must be keeping them well fed. Or could the TSC block have helped with antler development.
I may be opinionated...but, my opinion is the only one that matters anyway.
well thanks, and , to be honest, I have fewer big bucks now than I did say 10 yrs ago, back then I had a lot of older bucks, thus better racks
and the past 2 yrs I have just been using more bait onder camera's in summer time for pic's
so I get more pic's now of many here, but the past 4-5 yrs have all been about the same on bucks, lots of 2.5 yr olds
in another few weeks, I will have lost about hlaf of them before season starts too!
I just am lucky to have a LOT of deer to make more every yr, just not so many big one4+ yr olds make it thru the poaching and hunting
as sure many places are like that
I also have really put a lot more into GOOD high protien food plots
which also pulls deer from pretty far come winter, and many tend to stay closer then after that, also helpng me keep a decent amount of bucks near by every yr
and this is a corn yr too, that always seems to be a bigger draw for bears, which I enjoy seeing I think more than deer anymore LOl
That buck on the tractor path seems to like that route! Got a stand there? The second to last buck pic is a pretty deer! Does it scare the crap out of you going into a stand in the dark with all those bears around?
Mike
if you ever need a hunting partner let me know and you can pick what i can shoot lol
well yes the one buck is very predictable right now, walks past a treestand about 8 yrds to the right of this cam almost every day at 6-6:30 pm , so yes I have a stand near by, and he is killable right now
BUT odds are he will change patterens soon, and to be honest, he is not up to what I want in the antler dept, a shame too, as he is one of my oldest bucks on the farm, should be 5+ this yr, but that rack isn't getting much bigger, Maybe 130's gross, MAYBE
and that's about what he was last yr, maybe gained 3-4 inches, that's it!
and as for bears, No I am not worried about them in the dark or daylight
they typically fear people, and are long gone before you get any where near them, in the odd event you get up on one, they still prefer to run away
never had a problem in all the yrs about them
will admit at times they are very courious, if they spot you up a tree, and have had a few climb up to get a better look at me
even had one lick a boot once, guess tasting to see what I was
they have excellent eye sight, hearing and a nose that will out smell a deer's nose hands down!
but no, no fear of bears, respect Yes, but they are not agressive critters really, and kinda know there at the top of the food chain, so they just like to be left alone and move about at will
but again, they run 99.9% of the time, when just smelling you close by, or seeing you
