Well looks like a great time was had by all, and a cool find as well
This past weekend we finally made it down to do some shed hunting. Too bad we couldn't stay late Sunday as Allen had his flag football game and pictures were being taken so we couldn't miss. So, we crammed a lot of walking into one long day and finished off the evening with backstraps wrapped in bacon and a bunch of deer ballz! Thanks to my Dad and his wife for having us again!!
Was a great start to the day with smiles!
Rusty sure was chomping at the bit to get started! I will say one thing, that dog tried his best to find some sheds!
That rub's as big as you Allen! We actually found several more as big or bigger but as usual I didn't have the camera in my hands at the time.
Covered a lot of ground, in and out of the thick stuff!!
Allen and grandpa were smart, they took a ride to settle those legs a bit! Oh and they beat us to the stream! Has to be one of my favorite pictures!
This absolutely is my favorite picture!! Down in the big holla rockhounding with the kids!!
Funny how things worked out. We had an antler we brought along to toss out in front of Rusty now and then to keep checking to see if he was really looking. Well, he kept finding it so we knew his sniffer was working. At one point after him finding it we took a break and wouldn't you know it, we left the antler laying there!! So when we got back to the house Jenna and I decided to take a ride back out on the 4 wheeler to look for it. Found it right where we thought it would be, was actually a good test to get our eyes working. We then decided to take a ride through an area we had not looked at all. As we were riding along I spotted something off to the side of the trail that looked like bone! As I was looking at it Jenna said 'wait, is that a....' and before she knew it I jumped off the 4 wheeler and ran over, her closely behind. Sure enough, it ended up being a matched set!! Her and I jumped for joy as the last time we found a matched pair her and I were together then as well!!! They were covered in leaves giving us the idea that they were likely last year's sheds. Oh and you can't see that picture because we left the house without a friggin camera!!
Yeah, those damn tree rats....

Enjoy your hunt- the long sit......... the cold.......the rain and snow......the peace and quiet, it may just be your last hunt........... you never know.

I did get a pic of a nice ten i passed on earlier in the season , he was very nice and almost took him but he just wasnt what i wanted , yet, he has dropped and havent located his sheds yet, but i am glad to see he made it and if he grows like he should he will be a shooter for sure.

Nice pics Big Holla.
I bet that was fun. It's good to see kids in the outdoors and having a good time.
Thanks guys! Seems every night when I get home either the wife or the kids are asking when we can go back down....for good! LOL yep, some day I would like to make that happen.

Looks like a great time Chuck!! found a matched set, good food but the best thing IMO was getting to spend some quality time in the outdoors with your family!
