Now for my serious post.
I believe what you are looking for are the names of the folks a couple people have already mentioned. My suggestion would be to follow that lead and check their profiles out, then look at their wall hangers. That would probably get you to the right place.
Welcome to the site and enjoy!
If there were 8 days in a week I would hunt 8 days
Well if we're going to get serious....while the names that have been mentioned are all very good hunters, if I had to place my money the one person on here that will produce a trophy buck next season I'd have to pick OHbooner....the last few years he's tagged some very nice bucks and seems to produce better than anyone else.
Enjoy your hunt- the long sit......... the cold.......the rain and snow......the peace and quiet, it may just be your last hunt........... you never know.
well like I said, cannot call a hunter a great hunter just by the size of deer they kill
here in PA, the odds of killing a 120 class buck are still extremely rare in most place
so based on size alone, its fair if you live in places that just have MORE bigger bucks
killing better than average bucks for your area is a better way to look at it
as if you say well what if they go places else where where bigger bucks are at
well that can just mean they have more $$$ and time to allow for that
as trying to 150 class deer in places there aren't any is an impossibl;e task, no skill level can over come
Just saying
size doesn't mean skill level at all
as my example of a 13/14 yr old girl that has killed a 170 deer here i pa back to back yrs
only can be done on places where that size deer exist
there just in my eye's is not enought time for her to have been alive to learn enough skills to be called a GREAT hunter
lucky SURE, on both sides, lucky to have a place like that to hunt, lucky to have family to take her(as at that age she cannot hunt alone legally) and lucky to have the quality of deer and enough land to gorw them yr after yr!
luck and skill are NOT the same
but over yrs can become the same to a point!
In his own mind I believe Bowguy 1,2 and 3 was the best......heh heh heh! Sorry couldnt resist!! And thanks for the compliment Stonegod. In good company there!!
Former (TEAM TREESTALKEN BUCKNUTS) 2009/2010 Season (TEAM HORN PORN) 2011/2012 Season (TEAM GUTPILE) 2012/2013 Season (2012/2013 Champions)
Crap!!!!......I completely forgot about bowguy.1....2 and 3!!!!......sorry OHbooner.....I'm going to have to change my vote for "best hunter on the site", to bowguy....he was a killing machine!!!.....don't believe me??.....just ask him.
Enjoy your hunt- the long sit......... the cold.......the rain and snow......the peace and quiet, it may just be your last hunt........... you never know.
I am the best....I just dont like to brag
I'm also one hell of a guitar player ;-)
There are lots of good whitetail hunters on this site. The best? Who knows. But I'd say OHBooner, Split_G2, Seeker, Forestman, and MQ1 are at the top of the list. I haven't killed a buck in two years so I have no place in this crowd.
"...the deepest, most permanent features of all great moments outside are the names, faces, descriptions, and emotions. The antlers on the wall...well, they're just bones affixed to boards. But what they represent, however, is flesh and blood - fathers and sons, friends spending time with friends and the the seasons of life when the people we love were still with us. These old antlers on the wall...well, take a seat, my friend, and I'll tell you all about them." -Rev. Zeke Pipher
Blackbeard i appreciate your flattering words , I do hunt hard and live deer and deer hunting , But it is tough sometimes to connect with a mature buck on a regular basis , The biggest problem i have on this subject is , "He has to be there to kill him" which is my personal quote year after year , It is the hardest part of the game is you have to find him , and then figure out how to get close. One year to the next you never know what you will find , to me that is one of the most exciting parts of the sport. Experience , Know How, and Time Afield is very important , but it all comes down to , for everyone , He has to be there to kill him.
"He is no fool who gives up what he can not keep,
To gain what he can not lose."
I would tell you guys the best hunter on the site is all the friends I've made from the the site. And maybe some day Curt will let me kill again at least a doe or two LOL Or even drink some more wine even have a meeting at the Kiddy table again.and get in the conversation of who is the best.
WINE AND SHINE is good but don't mix with a treestand
