    Camera for DIY video hunts?

    Hello,

Haven't chimed in around here for a long time.......but, anyway.........
I am having trouble finding a reasonably priced camera to use for self video-ing deer hunts. COOL weather zaps the battery on the digital camera that I am currently trying to use. I am considering trying the GoPro Hero?
If anybody has a good camera they are using let me know, Please!
By the way, I am really not looking to spend over $250 +/-.

    thanks ahead of time

this is what another member told me to look into, I know it's over your range but if you do some searching on the cameras you can snag one for round $400. I asked him what I'd need to get started and this is what he said he used

"Camera- Canon Vixia HD series camera- They are around 600-800 bucks
    Canon Shotgun Mic
Third Arm bandit series camera arm
    Sony Vegas editing software"

if you go to this link and look at the original post there is a link to their website up. On the homepage they have the video they made from last years hunt, it's pretty impressive an hour long but definitely worth the watch.
