Awesome deer- nice reward after a long bow season!
Hi folks- I want to take my 12 y/o on a hog hunt over the holidays. We live in Loveland OH, outside of Cincy. Can anyone recommend a place near me?
Thanks!
, but Ohio, doesn't really get that Cold, as to a lot of places I have hunted
Hear yah, I only wear my cold weather gear in OH every few years but when it's in the single digits I am glad I have...
I like wool too but but more so when it's 30 degrees and wet or in Alaska when I need gear that I can wear for a week. I don't think it's as good as Cabelas Dry-Plus, silent hide, thinsulate when the...
Nice view! Better than my lonely office in Forest Park!
Nice story.....
I know it's not bowhunting but was wondering how other did during the youth gun hunt? I took my middle kid out, 11 y/o, for his first deer hunt. We went to our Ross Co lease where I spent Nov 9th -...
Amen to this...
Yep- that is what I found with the HSS. It's just so easy that I always wear it. I am sure all the top manufactures are similar. I think it's more "you get what you pay for". Spend...
Congrats HuntingAgain!
Given that I'll be in a buddy stand with my son for the youth season.....I hope the deer will be post lock down. Realistically though with what I saw last week in on my lease I think they'll be...
I bought the HSS a few years ago and really like it. To be honest I never really used the ones I had previously as they were such a hassle. Not only do I use the HSS while sitting but I do when...
Helps track a friends deer with the same placement and wound channel last week. (And the deer went 400 yards and probably lived for 1 1/2 hours, good thing we waited) I wonder if the deer was in some...
I just spent 8 days in the Ross Co woods. Scraping activity just started booming there the 11th with Bucks seeking. They were just starting to chase when I left Sat. Rut seemed to be slightly later...
Hi- Nov 12th, 430pm. Temp 36 degrees. Came into a doe in heat call from my reliable "True Talker". Shot him standing in his scrape recently freshened up with Code Blue. Not the Ohio bruiser I was...
It's hard to judge where you're arrow landed but I've had quartering away shots where the my broadhead ran up between the scapula and backbone. I saw the buck a month later with a nice scar!
I'd forgo the time needed to carry, set-up and climb a tree with a climber and set up some ground blinds.
Nice story!
Yeah, and by now there should be some crow activity on the buck if he's dead. At least you could get the rack.
Congrats! Nice buck
Hi- I lived in Maumee for a long time. Check out Adams Conservation Club, they have a 3D range up all year round for practice. There is a waiting list and you need a member to join. Find out when the...
Glad to have you back to the buckeye state. I am a Marine vet too and live in Loveland OH. I have been bowhunting for close to 30 years and would be glad to help you out in anyway possible.
I am...
Thanks for the info.....I appreciate it and plan on packing a sandwich and doing an all day sit
Good Luck! What county are you heading too?
Idreamofdoptines- because when there is a full moon deer activity at night increases and your peak activity periods tend to be at first and last light. But during the prerut, which I think is...
The rut definitely slows down with warmer temperatures and the full moon this week will hurt things a bit too.
I am with you Ranger! I think the full moon is more of a reason than ever to sit all...
Buck's in Texas don't have the winter coats like in OH! I am not saying that deer don't rut when it's warm, what I am saying is that deer activity declines when it's unseasonably warm whether the rut...
