No. Didn't see anything. probably go out next on weds.
I am heading out this afternoon.
It's been really slow in my area, heading out this afternoon after yard work.
Hunted wed eve, Thurs eve, and last eve, saw one small 8 point wed eve, a decent eight point Thursday eve, and the same small 8 point last eve i spotted wed and 2 does, the buck last night didn't...
Had my first hunt of the season last night, had a small buck chasing a doe, saw another small buck by himself. Saw 4 total, full moon tomorrow, should see some serious action heating up by this...
I realize that rad, I was just saying,IMO, I wouldn't disturb this area and risk scaring off the deer at this time of the year. Hunting is about to get real good!!
Imo, this time of the season, I wouldn't go in and disturb this area and possible scare off the deer who are use to bedding there. I wouldn't worry about corn this time of the season, The last thing...
That's true. Good luck! Lets us know your results.
There is only one house in the area that I hunt that burns wood, and this method works for me. I say go for it.
I bought some several seasons ago and had bad luck with it. I used it on three different hunts and each time it spooked deer, so I pitched mine.
I have a burning barrel, that I put leaves and twigs in, and I stand in front of it with all my gear on to get smoked up.
God bless you and your family! I will keep you in my prayers!
I have used this method now for 6 years and have never been busted by a deer. I have also killed at least one deer every year too. It works great for me, I never have to worry about wind direction...
I don't usually go out till the middle of October, weather permitting. Good luck to all those out today!
I'm still here. Starting to get that itch! It wont be long now. The best time of the year is getting close for me, Football season and Bow Season!!
I would still stick with the first two weeks of November. Best time to be in the woods IMO.
So where exactly had you hit him?
I agree 100 percent with that, the does will drive off their fawn if it happens to be a button buck to prevent inner breeding.
I agree 100 percent that it is, the peak of the rut is always around the middle of November, which is when lock down occurs.
Its lock down time!! This is a great article for hunting the lock down phase of the rut.http://www.foremosthunting.com/Deer/Tips/HuntingWhitetailsDuringTheLockdown.aspx
It could be that the doe you seen has already been bred and she will be back with her fawns and acting normal.
Lock down is getting close! As most of you know, deer movement will become scarce for several days!
I know where that is, great area for deer! Good luck!
Hunted last night, with very high winds and temps near 70, spotted my first shooter buck of the season, he stood in the middle of a picked bean field for about 5 mins, too far for a shot, on my way...
