This year I have been very fortunate with the bow. I had the opportunity to take two does on the last Friday of both archery and rifle season. Both times it just so happened I took my bow. Both happened in the last hour of the day. I've never had much luck in the afternoon especially in archery season but it appears I may change my tune regarding afternoon hunts...

First doe was taken the last Friday of archery season in 2F in the afternoon.

The second doe this year was taken the last Friday afternoon of rifle season with the bow in 5B.

I've been very fortunate this year and am grateful for my success especially with the bow. This is the first year in 7 or 8 years where I was able to hang a tag on more than one deer and it is a year I will not forget for the snow, low temps, hunting camp and family. Granted I saw very few bucks I still had one heck of a season. I may or may not hunt the late season here in PA after Christmas. I just have no idea if I will have the time and motivation when the time comes.

Well congrats to you on your kills
and I hear you on a Pa season this yr, was sure up and down on temps and weather
late season I will be out however, not much motivation, just habit I guess Lol
too dumb to call it a yr, even though I really have no plans to shoot anything

I hear that. I only saw one buck that was in range. There was no shot but it was the only one in range this year. Which is odd I typically see several bucks but this year just the one. The others I saw where in fields 100's or yards away or on the road while I was driving. I took my birthday in early jan off work to at least do some scouting. I may hunt I may not but I will be walking in the woods if that counts.

I think it has been a rough season everywhere. I was only able to get two shot opportunities this season and I was fortunate to connect.

Thanks everyone for the congrats I hope you all end up with some meat in the freezer.

In the last 10 years PA has gone through a major herd reduction effort headed by the PA Game Commission. There were several years where I wasnt sure what a deer looked like the herd numbers were so low. So lot to the point that I would hunt almost every weekend through out archery and plus the last week or our archery season and a week of rifle so roughly 25ish days in the woods and I may have seen 2 deer all season. I hunted all over the place but the deer just weren't there. The last 3 years they made some season changes and the deer numbers although still very low have started to rebound and we are starting to see deer again. This season I only got skunked on one sit so far. I didn't see a lot of deer but I was seeing one or two each sit sometimes a few more it just depended.

I haven't hunted nearly as much as I used to but from the sounds of things the deer are getting farther and fewer between out in ohio.
