for those thinking about applying out west for elk, the deadline for NM is March 28 and CO is April 3. hope to see some Ohio guys out here this year. i've met folks from Wisconsin and Kansas out here and they tend to make great elk killers. i would think the Ohio guys are just as good or better with their bows in hand. you can go to either or both websites to apply. NMDGF and CDOW. good luck and Go Buckeyes! here's a sample of what the elkwoods look like. it is a great adventure everytime i head out to the elkwoods into country like this.
